Our Purpose

The purpose of the Canfield Athletic Boosters, Inc. (IRS 501(c)3) is the promotion of the moral,
mental and physical advancement of high school youths through clean sports and the encouragement of the spirit of pure sportsmanship in the youth of our community. We will strive to provide financial support and recognize participants in athletic programs of Canfield High School throughout the school year in all sports. The booster club supports funding the cost of uniforms, ice time, court rentals, transportation and equipment in addition to providing support for major athletic building additions and renovations. Two $1000 scholarships are awarded each year to two deserving Canfield High School graduating senior students through the Dick Weiss Scholarship Fund.

Fundraising

We are the oldest Parent Booster Organization at Canfield High School, organized in 1973. In 2011, we acquired tax exempt status from Federal income tax under section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code. We are considered a public charity. Since 1998, the Canfield Athletic Boosters, also referred to as the "Big Boosters" has raised and donated over $720,000 to Canfield High School athletics.

Our biggest single fundraiser is the Fall / Winter / Spring All Sports Athletic Programs in which
student athletes, cheerleaders and band members are highlighted. Funds are raised by selling ad space in the booklet. It gives our local businesses the opportunity to not only advertise economically to the local market, but also directly support Canfield athletics while doing so. They are sold at all home sports events. The Cardinal 200 is another Fall fundraiser that takes place in September and October. Two hundred, $100 tickets are sold for a 50/50 drawing. Seven cash prizes ranging from $200 to $1000 are awarded including a $5,000 grand prize. In December and January, we sell tickets for our Red & Black Super Bowl Block Pools. Tickets are $50 per block with the cash payouts of $500 per quarter and $1000 final score.
